RISK AND ABANDONMENT FACTORS RELATED TO LEPROSY

Abstract
Objective: To analyze and understand the risk factors for leprosy from the abandonment of its treatment. Method: This is a bibliographic review, with a qualitative and exploratory approach. To survey the studies, a source made available by consulting the database of the Virtual Health Library with the descriptors “Hansen’s disease”, “treatment”, “Risk factor” and “Adherence to treatment” was used. Results and discussion: The factors that contributed to treatment abandonment were: lack of family monitoring with the user, lack of information on the part of the health team, prejudice, adverse reactions with medications. Conclusion: We conclude the need for health teams to work together with users, so that there is an effective treatment.
