Systematization of nursing care to an elderly with leprosy

Abstract
Currently, leprosy represents a public health problem due to its power to cause physical, social and economic incapacity, despite the increase in the number of studies developed in recent years. Care for leprosy patients is associated with a multidisciplinary team based on scientific evidence, aiming at respect, humanization of care in health promotion and disease prevention, where self-care is a primary action to prevent sequelae. Thus, nursing professionals have an important role in the development of actions regarding leprosy control. Therefore, this work is an experience report about the systematization of nursing care for an elderly person with leprosy based on their health history. The analysis of the report took place during the practices of the discipline of Primary Care in Family Health of the Nursing course at the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusophony (UNILAB) in December 2019. Thus, it was possible to identify how the systematization of nursing care in this case and scored some nursing diagnoses, interventions and the expected results.
