Reimagining global health - 30 high-impact innovations to save lives.

Introduction:

The Reimagining Global Health report is the result of a yearlong effort led by PATH to identify, evaluate, and showcase game-changing health technologies and innovations with great promise to save lives. PATH sought ideas from experts, innovators, and developers worldwide, crowdsourcing health solutions that can accelerate the world’s progress toward the proposed 2030 health targets in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. People in nearly 50 countries nominated more than 500 innovations for consideration. Dozens of independent health experts then assessed them, selecting the 30 innovations featured in the report. The report also includes commentaries from leading health, business, and technology experts on the essential role of innovation in driving health impact. A key feature of the report is our health impact modeling data, estimating the lives saved and cost of select maternal, newborn, and child health innovations. Reimagining Global Health, the inaugural report of the Innovation Countdown (= IC) 2030 initiative, highlights 30 lifesaving innovations with great romise to accelerate that progress over the next 15 years to reach the proposed health targets of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This IC2030 report also features commentaries by leading health, business, and technology experts on the essential role of innovation in driving health impact.
