Massive inguinal swellings with scrotal ulcers in a case of lepromatous leprosy: Mimicker of lymphogranuloma venereum
Abstract
A 47-year-old male presented to us with tender bilateral inguinal swelling with tenderness over the left inguinal lymphadenopathy and ulcer over the scrotum simulating a lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV). Detailed history, clinical examination, and microbiological and histopathological investigations led to a diagnosis of nodular lepromatous leprosy. The patient was started on MB-MBT (adult) as per World Health Organization guidelines. There was a remarkable improvement seen over the genital swelling in the form of a decrease in size and tenderness. We are presenting the case of lepromatous leprosy which mimicked bubos of LGV because of atypical morphology.
