Lepromatous Ulcer

Abstract

Leprosy also known as Hansen’s disease is a chronic, infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae bacillus, which affects mainly peripheral nerves and skin but may also affect sites such as the eyes, mucous membranes, bones, and testes and produces a spectrum of clinical phenotypes. Although the prevalence of disease is decreasing, Hansen’s disease represents one of the major public health problems mainly in India and Brazil.
