NLR India Marks 27 Years, Urges Stronger Last-Mile Action Against Leprosy

NLR India commemorated 27 years of transforming lives affected by leprosy, bringing together policymakers and experts to urge stronger last-mile interventions. The event highlighted the need for deeper engagement between government, nonprofits, and the private sector to address the disease and its stigma. Bhimwati, a resident of a leprosy ashram, shared her personal experience of discrimination, reinforcing the ongoing social challenges. NLR India called for increased corporate and philanthropic support to accelerate awareness, reduce stigma, and improve healthcare access.
