Leprosy cases nearly doubled in Florida in 2025

The number of leprosy, or Hansen’s disease cases in Florida are up 94 percent through October 11 this year, according to data from the Florida Department of Health.

From January 1 through October 11, 31 confirmed leprosy cases have been reported in Florida. This is up from 16 cases during the same period in 2024.
