Group tackles leprosy spread in Nasarawa communities
The Leprosy Mission Nigeria, with funding support from The Leprosy Mission Australia, has donated no fewer than three mobile clinic tricycles to the Lafia, Doma and Keana Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State in order to tackle the spread of Leprosy and other neglected tropical diseases in the area.
Arewa PUNCH reports that the intervention which is under the ‘Enhanced Care for Integrated Skin NTDs in Nigeria Project’, operates across Nasarawa, Benue, and Zamfara states, delivering inclusive, community-driven interventions, focusing on early case detection, WASH, mental health, climate resilience, and disability inclusion.
In Nasarawa State, the activities of the organisation are implemented in: Lafia, Nassarawa Eggon, Akwanga, Doma, and Nasarawa LGAs.
