Reply to comment on "Ichthyosiform sarcoidosis: a mimic of leprosy?"

Abstract

We read with interest the comment by Abdelmaksoud on our manuscript "Ichthyosiform sarcoidosis: a mimic of leprosy?". Akin to sarcoidosis, leprosy can present with varied manifestations and organ involvement. In this regard, the recently published report by Polavarapu et al on central nervous system (CNS) and proximal nerves involvement in leprosy makes an interesting read. Brachial plexus-thickening, raised angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) levels and negative slit skin smears (SSS) may be seen in a rare sub-sets of patients with leprosy.
