Abstract

This book is written with a longing for the science between theory and practice to be easy and grounded. Many undergraduate and post graduate students are still reluctant to use Qualitative methods. Qualitative and Quantitative Approaches have their respective followers. Some scientists consider quantitative research to be higher in value than qualitative, whereas qualitative researchers assume that quantitative research is too rigid and tends to reduce people's minds. It is necessary to realize the same quantitative and qualitative thinking flow in search of a truth. Most of the reactions from students that qualitative research is difficult and  take time (long process). This book is titled "Research Methodology: Just Qualitative " to answer the challenge, invites students and researchers to dare to write and think that qualitative research is not always as difficult as it thinks. Do not be afraid, let's try it "Qualitative approach".
     Qualitative research has  been rarely studied by social scientists especially in Indonesia, one of the limitations of Indonesian literature. This book discusses the basic matters of qualitative thinking, history and philosophy, starting with 5 questions, qualitative and quantitative differences in stating problems, how to dig information through snow ball method, examples of qualitative research applications of thesis and dissertation (Biography, Case Studies, Phenomenology, Grounded Theory, Etnomethodology), understanding the culture and the last of the proposal format as well as the Tips on writing.  The example of Snow ball is about the history of dr Leiker in Papua, the first leprosy doctor who served in Papua (verloren niet vergeten).
