Leprosy reactions (LR) are acute inflammatory episodes that manifest as skin lesions, neuritis, and systemic symptoms in patients with leprosy infection. The prevalence rates are highly variable due to geographic differences and the capability of early detection. Currently, epidemiological data in countries from Latin America is scarce. Erythema nodosum leprosum (ENL) plays a significant role in the long-term disability associated with leprosy.
