We read with great interest the position statement on Leprosy by Belachew et al and would like to congratulate the authors on a well written article. The different clinical presentations have been concisely summarized. It is prudent to note that the presentation of leprosy is not limited to those discussed in this article. Histoid leprosy is a distinct variant of leprosy which warrants special mention as it has unique clinical, histological and morphological features. This form of leprosy usually results from dapsone monotherapy and irregular treatment but it can arise de novo as well.
