Query on the authenticity of the case record of Wang Zhogxuan's case diagnosed by Zhang Zhongjing mentioned in Huangfu Mi's Zhen-Ju-Jia-Yi-Jing of the Jin dynasty was raised in the 1950s. It was believed that Huangfu Mi's idea was "subjective" "exaggerated" "fabricated" story which should be discarded. The truthfulness of the case record is undeniable, since Huangfu Mi's work was reliable, and there was possibility of meeting between Wang and Zhang, and also the facts that "leprosy is incurable twenty years later". This is of significance to the recognition of some special type of leprosy and the understanding of Zhang's life.
