Thirty three leprosy patients in reaction were treated with a combination of Metronidazole--Diethyl carbamazine citrate--Chloroquin which was reinforced either with prednisolone and/or Clofazimine in some, depending on the clinical state. The results were quite encouraging as to recommend the combination alone to be the first choice while encountering leprosy patients in reaction early during the maiden spell--at no time in any case was Dapsone withdrawn.
