AB - <p>Bacteraemia was assessed and compared in the venous blood samples of leprosy patients by employing the existing and the modified haemolysis method respectively. The modified method was more sensitive in determining bacteraemia in these patients as evident from the finding of more number of positive cases detected by this method. A significantly higher yield of bacterial number was detected by employing the present method when compared to that obtained by earlier method.</p>
