descriptive observational study was carried out in patients with reactional states of leprosy who attended the
special consultation of the Central Polyclinic, Camagüey province, with the objective of characterizing them, from
April 1, 1999 to March 31, 2020. All the patients with a diagnosis of reactional states who came to the consultation
in the aforementioned period constituted the study universe. A data collection sheet was prepared that allowed
the information to be organized and that became the definitive record of the investigation. Descriptive statistics
methods such as absolute numbers and percentages were used for statistical processing. Male patients over 60
years of age predominated. Lepromatous leprosy occurred in more than a third of the patients. Leprotic reactions
were rare in a third of the patients. Urinary sepsis was the associated disease that occurred most frequently. More
than half of the patients who were evaluated psychologically, were affected.
