<p><em>Leprosy rapid test (LRT) is a simple rapid diagnostic tool to diagnose MH accurately. This aim of this study to</em></p>

<p><em>determine the diagnostic values of LRT in diagnosing MH compare to slit skin smear (SSS) in presumtive MH patients at</em></p>

<p><em>Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital (RSUPMH) Palembang. Diagnostic test with cross sectional design was</em></p>

<p><em>conducted from November 2014 to February 2015. A hundred and ten presumtive MH patients who fulfilled inclusion</em></p>

<p><em>criterias in the Dermatology Infection Outpatient Clinic at RSUPMH Palembang were included by consecutive</em></p>

<p><em>sampling. All participants were examined with LRT, SSS and histopathological. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy</em></p>

<p><em>and area under curve of LRT are significantly higher than SSS (98,1% vs 85,71%; 80% vs 60%; 97% vs 85% and</em></p>

<p><em>0,890 vs 0,72; respectively). Leprosy rapid test provides significantly higher diagnostic values than SSS in RSUPMH</em></p>

<p><em>Palembang. It can be used instead of SSS as MH diagnostic tool.</em></p>
