Community based Rehabilitation (CBR) is a strategy for enhancing the quality of life of disabled people by improving service delivery by providing more equitable opportunities and by promoting and protecting their human rights. Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) focuses on enhancing with disabilities and their families, meeting basic needs and ensuring inclusion and participation. It is a multi sectoral strategy that empowers persons with disabilities to access and benefit from education, employment, health and social services. CBR is implemented through the combined efforts of people with disabilities, their families and communities and relevant government and non government health, education, vocational social and other services. The CBR believes that problems faced by children with disabilities are not on the results of their individuals impairment but also due to the negative attitude and beliefs existing in the community. So it attempts to change community behavior that of children with disabilities to enable the community to engage and Participate effectively in programmes towards fulfilling the vision statement that is effective realization of Humanistic community based Rehabilitation.
