In their 2015 declaration “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, Member States pledged to end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected tropical diseases by 2030, and to combat hepatitis and other communicable diseases. This report reviews progress and challenges in the global response to reduce the burden of these diseases in the context of the Millennium Development Goals, and looks ahead to identify the strategies and approaches that will be needed to accelerate progress during the new development era. The report was developed by WHO’s Cluster for HIV/ AIDS, TB, Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases in 2015.
