At Real Gabinete Português de Leitura, Arquivo Nacional and Biblioteca Nacional, banks, indexes, official documents and photos on the administration of leprosaria and articles on the treatment of the disease have been investigated. At Centro de Pesquisa e Documentação de História Contemporânea do Brazil (CPDOC-FGV), several files have been researched, mainly those with information on the health policies of the first Vargas administration (1930-1945).
