The Sera from 15 healthy subjects were included in the study as controls. Hypoferraemia was observed in lepromatous leprosy and was particularly marked during the reactive phase. Further investigations to elucidate the pathogenesis of anaemia in leprosy are being planned.</p>  a0024-1024
