  abstract = {Leprosy control actions (LCA) are decentralized in the Family Health Strategy (FHS). The purpose of this paper was to analyze the access to LCA in the primary health care network of the cities localized within the Almenara micro-region of Minas Gerais, Southeastern Brazil. This was a qualitative research undertaken in nine municipalities, involving 45 health professionals. Semi-structured interviews and documental research were used for data collection from November 2007 through February 2008. Content analysis was used for data analysis and treatment. The FHS does not guarantee universal access
to LCA. Access is determined by the political prioritization of this hazard, presence of trained and committed professionals, availability of facilities for dermatological and neurological examinations, availability of facilities for bacteriological investigation and resources for the education of the population about the signs and symptoms of leprosy. We concluded that the LCA provided in the region are influenced by the level of technological organization of the services.  },
