  abstract = {To assess knowledge in health education about leprosy, through an accessible and appropriate communication with the aim of producing materials to support educational practice developed in the school. This exploratory study with a qualitative approach. To obtain the information we carried out a pilot interview to assess prior knowledge of the students were later conducted workshops on leprosy, focusing on aspects of health education. After completion of the workshops, a questionnaire was semi-structured, addressing the same issues initially applied instrument, analyzing the results of the workshops in addition and modification of knowledge about leprosy. Themes were outlined: the characteristics of leprosy and their transmission, the importance of health education about leprosy. Final consideration: However, it is noted that the school population shows a lack of information regarding the disease, being necessary to invest in more educational activities aimed at this audience.  },
