Understanding the immunopathogenic mechanisms of this disease is essential for interpreting clinical manifestations and conventional diagnostic tests and developing diagnostic strategies for leprosy detection. This review aims to provide an overview of the immune response, clinical features and emerging diagnostic approaches in leprosy.</p>
